As the United States’ principal conservation agency, the Department of Interior is responsible for most of our nationally owned public lands and natural resources. These include parks, wildlife refuges, lakes and river systems, battlegrounds, volcanoes, islands, deserts, and many other land and water areas. An internship with DOI could involve biology, engineering, archaeology, architecture, landscape architecture, hydrology, geology, cartography, history, wildlife biology, leisure studies, park and natural resources management and oceanography.
