The Environmental Protection Agency’s mission is to coordinate effective government action on behalf of the environment. The EPA tries to achieve systematic control and abatement of pollution by properly administering and integrating a variety of research, monitoring, standard setting, and enforcement activities. EPA also reinforces efforts on the part of other federal agencies. An internship with EPA could involve environmental science, chemical engineering, biochemistry, botany, or agronomy.
