                                            National Institute of Health’s Cyrus Salazar

                                                Named One of Tech’s "100 Most Important Hispanics” for 2006

 

BALTIMORE, Md. — The editors of Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology magazine (www.hispanicengineer.com) have selected Cyrus Salazar of the National Institute of Health for the prestigious 100 Most Important Hispanics in Technology and Business list for 2006.

Honorees are chosen for this annual list because of their leadership and outstanding work in the field of technology. This list includes many of the nation's highest achieving Hispanic  executives, managers, and researchers in industry, government, and academia These are women and men who have demonstrated leadership on a broad front, not only in the workplace, but also m their communities. HE&IT recognizes contributions made on a daily basis by the thousands of Hispanics in technology-related jobs. The event to honor the 100 Most Important Hispanics will be held on Friday, September 15, 2006, during Hispanic Heritage month in Baltimore. Md. The honorees will be featured in the upcoming issue of Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology magazine, which is distributed to engineering colleges and universities with high Hispanic enrollments, Hispanic professionals and high-level government and industry policy makers and executives across the country.

Hispanic Engineer & Information Technology magazine is one of the industry's oldest and most prestigious publications. Career Communications Group Inc. (CCG) is a minority-owned talent management and career development company whose mission is to promote career and educational opportunities for minority professionals and students in engineering, technology, and science. CCG hosts the nationally renowned Minorities in Research Science Conference in Baltimore, Md., during Hispanic Heritage month.  CCG is also the founder of a national public awareness campaign, La Familia Technology Week, which seeks to increase Hispanics’ interest in technology.
