This summer the Denver Office is hosting three college interns under a national program sponsored by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU).
Claudia Coria is majoring in Business at the University of Colorado at Denver (UCD) and will graduate next spring. Jitana Thomas will graduate this December with an Associates Degree in Business from South Mountain Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. Hector Susano is a Junior at UCD majoring in Business with an emphasis on Information Systems and plans to graduate in 2010.
All three are enjoying their work assignments and appreciate the opportunity to be a part ofReclamation’s Federal workforce.
Claudia is working for Safety, Security and Law Enforcement, and both Jitana and Hector are working for the Management Services Office. The invaluable 10-week work experience has broadened their skills and awareness and most certainly will strengthen their educational and career goals.
Since 2007, Reclamation has served as the lead bureau for the Memorandum of Understanding between the Department of the Interior and HACU. HACU was established in 1986 and today represents over 450 colleges, universities and school districts committed to Hispanic higher education success.
