During the year 2007 the HACU National Internship Program had 626 students participate in what has become the nation’s largest Hispanic college internship program.
The summer 08’session had 425 students from throughout the United States and Puerto Rico gain on-the-job experience. The HACU National Internship Program has provided paid internships to more than 5,300 students since 1992.
The program would not be a success without the support of our federal and corporate partners providing our students on-the-job experience and introductions to potential career paths.
Among our federal partners are the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Department of Commerce (DOC) and Department of Transportation (DOT). These agencies have consistently welcomed large numbers of our students to these important internship opportunities. Within these agencies are individual leaders whose commitment to our program has proven crucial to our continuing growth. (For a complete list of federal partners click here.)
