Dear HACU Alumni Association (HAA) Members:
The HAA Board is proposing two amendments to the HAA by-laws to help ensure continuity in programming and to preserve institutional memory of the HACU Alumni Association.
The first amendment proposes an improved Board structure that allows a one year time frame where senior officers can work with freshmen officers and orient them on the organizational priorities and strategic direction of the HAA. The intent is to protect the direction of the organization and ensure progression of activities, board development, and continuity.
The second amendment includes updating job descriptions for the Vice-Chairperson for Fundraising and for the Members-at- Large by adding the responsibilities of serving as the lead for fund raising for the HAA (Vice-Chair for Fundraising), serving as a lead for projects or initiatives respectively (Members-at- Large), as well as other by-law changes that reflect organizational changes.

Please know that all votes must be completed electronically (per the bylaws) and we deemed it best to have one centralized voting location. To vote, please visit the following web page:

All proposed amendments need to be approved by 2/3 of the membership.
Lastly, members will have 7 days to vote on the amendments, with voting to close on Friday, July 25, 2008.
HAA Board of Director Elections
If these amendments are approved, the HAA Board Officers will move quickly to announce the positions that will be open for this summer's election. So if you've been meaning to get involved with the HAA and are interested in holding a leadership position on the Board, now is your opportunity!
