Julia Ferdowsi and the Secretary of the Treasury, Henry Paulson

Partaking in the HACU Internship Program was an extraordinary experience.  I had the opportunity to intern at the U.S. Department of the Treasury.  Working within the Treasury was challenging, stimulating, and rewarding.  I was not only able to gain first-hand experience in a financial setting but also able build relationships through teamwork and group projects.  An internship with the Treasury perfectly complimented my undergraduate degree in finance.

During the internship program not only did I form strong bonds with my co-workers and supervisors, but I also built close relationships with the other interns and the staff of HACU who made my experience worthwhile.  They formed the foundation I needed to succeed in a foreign city.

The HACU Internship Program has served as the perfect impetus to begin my career in the financial realm.  I now have the background, knowledge, and confidence to start my career after undergraduate school.  HACU is true to their motto of “opening doors of opportunity.”

Meet Karen Serrano

Being a HACU intern has been an amazing experience. Working for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) has taught me more about my field, career choices, and the federal government. Full Story >
